Food-Art: Breakfast of Champions

This art piece,  created by Hank Willis Thomas  and Ryan Alexiev, depicts an iconic image of  US president, Barack Obama, in a curiously alluring mosaic portrait made of what seems to be Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms, Chex and some other unidentifiable (at least to me) brands of cereal--one of the most heavily marketed consumer packaged goods in the US.   This ostensibly cheery (amazing effect that cereal has on our visual culture) piece of art raises many questions about consumerism, politics, marketing, and race.
